ΣAKA Middle East Chapter
The SAKA Middle East Chapter was created in 2018 with the support of SAKA and its board members. Locally, it was initiated through the coordination of Christos Megkousidis ‘10, who is studying in Dubai, UAE and Dr. Elias Nikolakopoulos ’87, a permanent resident of Muscat, Oman.
Unlike in many other places, most foreigners in the Middle East come for a standard period, as defined by their type of business and contract, therefore there are much fewer permanent residents in these countries. Despite these technical difficulties, our aim remains to bring together all Athens College Alumni that are living in the Middle East, be that permanently or temporarily.
The chapter’s aim is to become a standard point of reference and to bring together the Alumni that reside in the Middle East. Exchange of knowledge and information about the broader area, SAKA and Athens College relevant and interesting information as well as social interaction are only some of the chapter’s targets.
Geographically, the chapter represents the alumni that are in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen and Iran. Due to various geopolitical issues of the area, the base of the Chapter is in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.
We urge all alumni that are currently living in these countries to contact us at dr_elias@yahoo.com. The chapter can also be found in LinkedIn as SAKA Middle East and in Facebook as SAKA Middle East Group.
